PHILOMATH COLLKGE.
The baccalaureate sermon was
preached Sunday morning by
Bishop H. L. Barkly. The house
was filled to overflowing. The
sermon was pronounced a master
piece by all who heard it. Sun
day evening President W. H.
Davis preached the annual ser
mon, his theme being "Christian
Zeal." The sermon was highly
appreciated by all.
The board of trustees met Mon
day at 1 p. m. The usual busi
ness was transacted with dispatch.
W. H. Davis was re-elected presi
deiit. The power to select the
rest of the faculty was gi en to
taking his tub along with him.
W. D. Kay lost a valuable horse
