F ib e .— On last Thursday, about noon, the A ntlers .—On last Monday Mr. George Ebell presented to this office the Antlers of a Deer, killed by Mr. Elliott, in the range of mountains on the west side of this valley. They are five pronged and as large and nice as any we have ever looked at—measuring two feet across in front. The deer, tfhen completely dressed, weighed .one hundred and eighty ponnds. We intend to make a gun rack of his horns. Messrs. Elliott and Ebell have our thanks for their remembrance o f the D emocrat office. It is mainly on account of its extraordinary pre ventive properties that Hosteler's Stomach Bitters is so exceedingly popular in localities subject to the visitation of miasmatic fevers and other diseases produced by empoisoned air. A family that has escaped sickness dur ing a sickly season in consequence of using the Bitters as & safeguard, is a living adver tisement of the virtues of the preparation. The whole neighborhood realize the fact. “ I couldn’tbave believed it," says one. “ I scar cely credited the advertisements; but one must believe what one sees,” says another. “ It is the very, thing we need in this nnwhole- some section of country,” remarks a third. And the result is that the iustinct o f self-de fence, the first law o f nature, induces threo- fourths o f that community to obtain a supply of the great vegetable antidote before the next sickly season sets in. In winter, when the system requires extra vigor and elasticity to enable it to baffle the effects o f damp and cold, the Bitters will be found particularly serviceable. Rheumatism will no. be apt to fasten upon muscles and nerves that have been braced up by this excellent invigorant and nervine; nor will the severities ot the sea- son, which have such a disastrous eff ect on the pulmonary organa of the feeble and delicate, be likely to exercise the same untoward in fluences in cases where the stomach and the external surface of the body (which always sympathizes with the digestive organs; have been toned and stimulated bv a course of tlie restorative. The fits of indigestion and ir- regularities of the bowels which proceed from sudden changes of weather may always be averted by a timely use of the Bitters. GOLD Kotice to "lie Pollic. W .
