The weather in the forepart of the
week was cool ; rain or snow was gen
erally exifHenced. The temperature
rose in the latter part 01 me week, when
warmth and sunshine prevailed. The
temperature since January 1st is much
below the average, white the snow and
rainfall Is above the average.

Winter wheat is generally reported in
good condition; a few suctions report
previous thawing and freezing weather.

ing the progress of the work require the
space occupied to be suitably enclosed,
and a temporary walk laid around the
same : and that signal light be conspi
cuously placed on the premise during
the night, and such other precautions
taken to nrevent accidents, as mav t
deemed necessary. Upon applications
for permits to remove buildings the com
mittee shall endorse the mode and route
for such removal, and the date upon which
the permit will expire, together with
such restrictions a the public interest
may require. Tlie committee may at
their discretion require applicant for
their permits to give security by deposit
or otherwise for any damage that may
accrue by carelessness, neglect or failure
to comply with the provisions ot this or
dinance. Sec. 5. The removal of a buildine? or
buildings under a nermit.when commenc
ed shall be continued during the hours of
tne day, and day vr dav until complete
with the least t-ossible obstruction to the
thoroughfares occupied, ho building
shall be allowed to remain over night up
on any street crossing or intersection, or
so near any fire hydrant or cistern, as to
prevent or inK-riere with easy access
thereto. Signal light stiall be conaoicn-
ously placed at each end of such building
during the hours in which the street
lamps are lighted.
Sec. 6. I'von the expiration of th
time namedf in the permit,or sooner ii the
nse of the street is no longer necessary,
the street shall be. bv and at the ex Dense
of the person or persons, to whom the
permit was granted, cleaned of all rub
oinh and olmtructions. and nlaced hi aa
good condition and repair,as it was before
such permit was granted.
Sec. 7. Anv tnerson or neraona violating
any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof before the
Recorder's Court shall be punished by a
fine of not Ice than five nor more than
one hundred dollara,or by imprisonment
in uie city lau not k-sa than two, nor more
than fifty days. And each day of main
taining or continuing such violation shall
be deemed a separate offence,and punish
ed accordingly.
Skc. 8. This ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its approv
al by the Mayor.
