Slie ia a jierson of uoblo extinction, being made of a man's rib. I don't know why Adam wanted to fool away his ribs in that way, but 1 suppose he was not accountable for everything he did. It costs more to keep a woman than three dogs and a shot gun. But she pays you Imck with interest by giving you a house full of chil dren to keep you awake all night and smear inolitbsue candy over your Sunday shirt. Besides, a wife is a very convenient thing to have about the house. She is handy to swear at when you cut yourself with a razor, and don't feel like blaming yourselt. Woman U tLe Fujerior being in Massachusetts. There are about CG,000 more of her sex than males in the State. This accounts lor the terrified, hunt ed down expression ot the single men who emigrate from the East. Woman was not created perfect. She has her f.mlu such as false hair, false complexion, and so on. But she is a great deal better than her neighbors, and she knows it. Ere was a woman. She must have been a model wife, for it cost Adam nothing to keep her in clothing. Still I don't think they were a bit happy. If it hadn't been for the confounded "snaik" perhaps the ladies of the pres ent day would dress as economically as Eve did.- Bat the only place where her primi tive style is emulated is in a certain portion of Africa, where the women consider themselves in full dress when they have a postage stamp stuck in the center of the forehead. Woman is endowed with a tremen dous bump of knowledge and a tongue to suit. She has the capacity for learning every tiling she was divinely intended to know, and a few extra items besides. Young ladies take a great deal of stock in classics and learn last. When you see a young lady from Vassar, with an absoibed look in her mouth and her lips moving, yon under stand at once tiiat she is memonzinz a passage from Tirgil. Bat perhaps a closer inspection will reveal the fact that she is oulr chewing gum. A woman may cot be able to sharpen a lead pencil, bat she can pack more articles in a trunk than a man can in a four-horse wagon. The happiest eriod of a woman's life is when she is making her wedding garments. The saddest is when her husband comes home late at night, and yells to her from the front door to throw out a handful of key-holes of different sizes. There is some curiosity in feminine nature.
