Money cannot buy an article which
will so fertilize your soil. Bones thus
ennmmed ,will quadruple the value of
wood ashes, which in themselves are
among the best of soil-enrichers.

''A. good cement for mending almost
anything may be made by , mixing to
gether litharge and glycerine to the
consistency of thick cream or fresh put
ty, .This cement is useful for mending
stone jars, or any course eart hern ware,
stopping leak in seams of tin pans or
washUoilers, cracks and holes in iron
tea-kettles, etc. Holes an inch in di
ameter in kettles can be tilled and used
the same for years in boiling water and
food. It may alxo be used to fasten on
Iamp-sto;, to tighten loose nuts, to
secure loose bolts whose nuts are lost,
to tighten lcose Joints of wood or iron,
loose boxes in wagon hubs, and in a
jrreat many other ways. In all . cases
the articles mended should not be used
until the cement is hardened, which
-will require from -one day to a week,
according to the quantity used. This
cement will resist the action of water,
hot or cold, aeid?, and almost any de
cree of heat.
