friends to secure his election to the office of
County Clerk, they entirely overlooked what
should have, been at weightier matter, and
the result was that Bon ham had forty-four
majority oyer Boise in. Albany precinct
early SO more than the average majority
of the Democratio ticket. i When the Radi
cals discovered how .beautifully they had
been "sniped", by ' their so-called friends,
curses loud and deep were heaped upon the
bolter and others who were assisting in
Monteith's election. 'Crimination '-land re
crimination were indulged in among the Re.
publicans, and for a time it seemed as
though an irrepressible conflict had arose in
their ranks... But,. fortunately, for t their
peace and harmony, the morrow's news was
more propitious for the election of Boise,
and their wrath was measurably cooled in
consequence. But it is only held in" abey
ance, and if the official count would yet de
termine the con t stt in favor of Mr. Bon-
ham, we may expect a bloody and sanguin
ary renewal of the conflict in the enemies'
ranks.
