A special from Atlanta says, the Geor
gia Legislature met on the 10th, in com
pliance with the orders of Provisional
Governor Uallock. The Senate organ-j
ized quicklj bj tie choice of Republican I
cfScers. ' In the House there seems to
have been "considerable disorder and con
fusion, ristolswere flourished and threats
were freelj indulged in. Happily no ac
tual violence was perpetrated. The House
adjourned without completing iu organ
isation. A telegram received at the War De

10th, from Gen. Reynolds, announces of
ficially the almost unanimous adoption of
the Constitution, and the election of Da

rest of the same ticket for State oucers;
also that the persons elected have been
appointed oScers of the Provisional Gov

elected Miss Eni ma Campbell enrolling
Clerk.

Stevens' battery was being rapidly com
pleted, and would be the most formidable
war vessel extant. He opposes the Fif
teenth Amendment.
The State Temperance Convention of
New Hampshire, nominated Rev. L. II.
Barrows for Governor, and Col. H. 0.
Price for Railroad Commissioner. A por
tion of the Convention seceded and re
fused to concur in its action.
In the Constitutional Convention of
Tennessee, among the propositions offered
iras one restricting the right of suffrage
to white persons, and one prohibiting the
Legislature from authorizing the iater
mrriage of whites and blacks.
Cheyenne, Wyoming Territory, was
visited by a destructive fire on the 11th

In the Pennsylvania Legislature on tbe
13th, Irwin was elected State Treasurer,
all the Democrats voting for him, thus
defeating the Republican caucus nomi
nee. Paris dispatches of the 13th contain
De Fourville'a account of the killing of
Victor Noire by Prince Bonaparte. Af
ter presenting the letter from Paschal
Grasset, the'Prince asked, "Are you the
representative of these wretches?" Xoire
replied, "We are the representatives of
our friends. Ihe l'nacs then struck him
with his left hand, at the same time draw
ing a pistol ready cocked with his right
hand, and fired upon Noire with the muz
zle cloce to him. Noire immediately sank
down in the door way. The Prince then
turned and fired upan De Fourville, who
endeavored to draw a small pistol. The
Prince rushed upon the latter, but when
he saw that he was armed, retreated be
hind the door, aimed at De Fourville.
who comprehending the arabasb into
which he had fahen, and reflecting, if ho

who would charge them with beinrj the
aggressors, he rushed out crying 4t mur

ran into the street, he found Victor Noire
dead, having had strength to descend the

curred on the 13th. The Government
expecting demonstration1, made exten
sive preparations to preserve order. Early
in the morning people began to gather
aro ind the house where tbe remains were
laying, coming from all parts of the city.
Five thousand workmen from the Fau
bourgs passed up the Boulevards. 3Iany
carriages with ladies dressed in mourninz
joined tne procession. In the afternoon
depatations of workmen visited the re
mains. 'The streets were filled with vast
thrcngs, and carriages containing noted
penons were surrounded bj the crowd
and the occupants cheered. The weath
er was cold and a heavy rain was falling
but the numbers continued to increase
until between two and three o'clock, when
more than 100,000 persons were assem
bled in the vicinity of the place where the
remiins were exposed. Rochefort's ap
pearance called forth great demonstrations
of enthusiasm. The remains were taken
to Neuilly for interment, followed by a
long procession. The crowd wanted to
parade with the body through Paris, bat
Louis Noire, brother of the deceased, re
fused to consent. At the cemetery there
were frequent shouts of Vive la Repub

people during the day. Rochefurt was
coming, down Champs Klysees accom

ing the; Marseillaise, when they were
stopped by a regiment of troops, and the
crow I ordered to disperse. Rochefort

to th 3 Chamber, where he arrived pale
and much excited. Champs Elysees was
then cleared by the troops. The Battal
