Fio- p.stnr Preachin? on the 2nd and 4th Sun day of each month, in me Ainany insirict tcoooi Hots. Jcogb Boise. Last week, io the midst ! ; a rcry exciting trial, and when scores of wit : n eases were in attendance, it was announced - that Judge Boise was so ill as to be unable ; to bold Court on that day. The next day. .however, he appeared in the Court' room, .- quite pale and prostrated, and proceeded to " business when he really should have been in bed. "We take this occasion to say and it affords ns unfeigned pleasure to be able to do so that we believe Judge Boise to be an able, honest and incorruptible dispenser of justice a clear-headed interpreter of the laws, and one, therefore, who honors the po sition he sa worthily fills. We respect and admire any man who, in these days of offi cial corruption and decay of public virtue, discharges his public duties as impartially . and justly as does Judge Boise those devolve 1 on him as Judge of the Third Judicial Di trict. We trust his life and health may 1 lon continued ; for to lose him now would be a public calamity. New Ads. C. F. Gay, Esq., has a lot of Sonera seed wheat for sale. Mrs. Duniway has received a new invoice - of Spring Millinery and Furnishing Goods, and the is enabled to furnish her customers with the best and latest styles, at the most reasonable prices. John J. Whitney, Esq., hangs out his . shingle as Attorney and Counsellor at Law. He is a very good stump speaker ; as to his abilities as a lawyer we have, as yet, no : means of knowing. R. S. Belknap, Esq., ives notice to stock raisers, that he has a full-blooded Morgan . horse a horse whose lineage can be easily traced back to the original Justin Morgan of Vermont. The Morgan horses, taken as a whole, are justly considered the best race of horses in the world. Thev are spirited, yet gentlj and kind; t they are snre-ftoted, ' healthy, hardy good under the saddle and in harness and possessed of extraordinary powers of endurance ; and withal very beau tiful in form and color. Our opinion is that there is ntbing in nature more beautiful . than a noble horse except a beautiful and coble woman ! Thz Meeting. The Albany Democratic Club met last Saturday evening at the Court House, and were addressed by Messrs. Helm, Cox and Smith. The first and the last gen tlemen, in the course of their remarks, allu. ded to the action of the County Convention both, particularly the last, heartily en dorsing it, and urging the Democracy to ral ly to the support of the ticket. Mr. Helm will a Id res s his fellow-citizens, at the vari ous precincts, during the pending cam paign, on all the vital questions now in issue. The remarks of Mr. Cox, of Josephine, were very well received by the Democratic portion of the audience. The weather is now beautiful ; the balmj breath of youthful spring is floating on the breeze, redolent with the odor of mother earth's early floral progeny, and resounding with the soft, sweet notes of nature's own glee club, to-wit : jay-birds and laying hens. N. B. Since the above wan in type we have Isarned from "oar Epecial artist on the spot," that there are still several bottles of 3Irs. Stipp'g Thoracic Balsam at our city drag t tores. Albaxt Bath House. Mr. Joseph Web ber, recently from Portland, has purchased the ab)ve institution from Good t Johnson, and proposes to keep a Bath House of the first order. Mr. V. particularly excells in the tonsorial line, handling the razor with superior adroitness, skill and dexterity. We hope that he will receive the patronage f which he is so eminently deserving. New Books. Ed. Freeland, we notice, is constantly adding to bis already very fair stock of books, stationery, Sec. If a custom er call for something he does not have he will sead for it. His handsome and Bpacioi shelves receive frequent additions of new and Taluable works. Albany Brewery. Mr. Keiferhos asso ciated with himself in the Brewery business Mr. Charles Roggers, who is quite .well .known in this community as a clever, genial fellow. The Albany Brewery has become one of the permancntandpayinginstitutiong of our city. , , " ' ;. .- .; JesT Receiyed. By reference to the new , advertisements, it will be seen that II.
