Terms : $3 a year in advance. The present is the 2Gth No. of the Demo crat. "We have now published it regularly, every week, for six months past just as we substantially promised we would do when wo commenced." Thus far wehavft scrupulously Tedeemed all our promises made to the pub lic ; and what we have done in this regard hould be guarantee as to our course in the future. When we toot hold of the Demo crat, last August, we found that many sub scribers had paid O'Meara in advance, and lhat their time was unexpired ambnnting in the aggregate to several hundred dollars. In other words, he owed scores of subscribers from fifty cents ti $3 each monies which ho had received from them on advance subscrip tions, and whose time he had not filled. Dur ing the past six months we have sent the Democrat to these subscribers thus paying these debts contracted by him. We were tinder ni legal or moral obligation to da so; hut we want tococyiace the public that we will act honorably with all those having deal ings with our.Establishment. Our Lusines is conducted on such a basis that it canno fail, at least so long as ordinary health is " Touchsafed to the firm. Instead of being in debted to every other man we meet as is the manner of some we could mention we webut few persons, and not a great deal to those few; and we now have the public in debted t-y us between one and two thousand dollars in the aggregate. Under these cir cumstances it is safe to say that the State Rights Democrat is on as secure a basis as that of any other public journal in Oregon. In conclusion, we hope our friends through out the country will take hold now in earn est. It will pay them as well as ns to acj -as agents for the Democrat. I. O. or G. T. Ixstaf-latiov.
