Ths pscaliftr taint t infection lrhich wa call Scrotcla lurkf la the GObttitutiona of multitudes of men. It either produce! or it Droduced by an en isssi si I' that fluid pecomes in competent to sustain the rltal forces in their learel the system to -CJfall into disorder and decar. The scrofulous contamination It ira riousljr 'caused by mercurial disease, law liting, disordered digestion ftora unhealthy food, impure air, filth and filthy lmlitsj the depressing rices, and, above all, by the renereal Infection. Whatever be its) ' origin, it ia hereditary la the constitution, descending "from parent to children unto the third and fourth generation " indeed, it cents to be the rod of Him who says, " 1 will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." The diseases it originates tako various names, according to the organs it attacks. Ia the lungs, Scrofula produces tubercles, and finally Consumption ; in the glands, awellings which auppurate and be come ulcerous sores j fn the stomach and bowels, derangements which produce indi gestion, dyspepsia, and liver complaints j oa the skin, eruptive and cutaneous affections. These, all having the same origin, require the tame remedy, viz., purification and invlgora tion of the blood. Purify the blood, and these dangerous distempers leave you. With feeble, foul, or corrupted blood, you cannot have health with that "life of the flesh healthy, you cannot have scrofulous disease. Ayer Barssparilla Is compounded from the most effectual and dotes that medical science has discovered for this afflicting distemper, and for the cure of the disorders it entails. That it is far supe rior to any other remedy yet devised, is known by all who have given it a trial. That it does combine virtues truly extraordinary ia their effect upon this class of complaints, Is indisputably proven by the great multitude f publicly known and remarkable cures it lias made of the following diseases : junff . M . tm , . Ml - ?S?.GS ilftZ Erysipelas, Boo or Et Anthony's Fire, Ealt Eheua, Scald Head,' Coughs from tuberculous deposits in tha lungs, White Swellings, Debility, Dropsy, Neuralgia, Dyspepsia or Indigestion, Syphilis and Brpoilitie Infections, Mercurial Diseases, xemale Weaknesses, and, indeed, the whole aeries of complaints that arise from imparity cf the Mood. Minute reports of individual cases may be found in Area's Americas Alhahac, which is furnished to the druggists t for gratuitous distribution, wnerein may do learned the directions for its use, and some of the remarkable cures which it has made when ail other remedies had failed to afford relief. Those cases are purposely taken from all sections of the country, in order that every reader may have access to some one who can speak to him of its benefits from personal experience. Scrofula depresses the vital energies, and thus leaves its victims far more subject to disease and Its fatal results than are healthy constitutions. Hence it tends to shorten, and does greatly shorten, the average duration of human life. The Tsst importance of these considerations has led ns to spend yean in perfecting a remedy irhich Is adequate to its cure. This we now offer to the public under the name of Ateb's BabsjIpamixa, although it ia composed of Ingredients, some of which exceed the best of SanapariHa in alterative power. By its aid yon may protect yourself from the suffer ing and danger of these disorders. Purge , out the foul corruptions that rot and fester In the blood, purge out the causes of disease, and vigorous health will follow. By its pecu liar virtues this remedy stimulates the vital functions, and thus expels the distempers which lurk within the system or burst out on any part of it. TVe know the public have been deceived by many compounds of Sartaparilla, that promised much and did nothing; but they will neither be deceived nor disappointed in this. Its virtues have been proven by abun dant trial, and there remains no question of its surpassing excellence for the cure of the afflicting diseases it is intended to reach. Although under the same name, it is a very different medicine from any other which has been before the people, and is far more ef fectual than any other which, has ever been available to them. CHERRY PECTORAL, The World's Great Remedy tot Coughs, Colds, Incipient Con Bumption, and for the relief of Consumptive patients tn advanced stages of the disease. Tliis has been so long used and to uni versally known, that we need do no more than assure the public that its quality is kept up to the best it ever has been, and that it may be relied on to do all it has ever done. A CASX or GLEfcT AXD STRirrCRKS. Dr. Doberty Dear Sir : I feel my health so ful ly restored that, in common gratitude, I believa I should make yon some written acknowledgment - for your valuable services particularly so as your fee was small for the work performed. I arrived is this city from the East about ona year ago, and was then suffering f I'm an old ease of Gleet, complicated with ttrietare. Being a stranger in this city, and believing those doctors who gave such positive assurances of success wera necessarily the best, (some of whom have a large number of titles) I placed myself in their eharge. aad continued under their treats ent until I bad lost nearly all hope and considerable sum of money. I wish to say now that yoa are the sixth doctor I have employed, and the only one that has ever dona me any service. My. Gleet is wholly cured, th stricture is all removed, and my fen era! health is better than it has been for years. In conclusion I would say to the nany unfortunates who require medical advice, if you have any doubt as to whom you may employ, ask Dr. Doberty for my address and eatl and see me. (I aeep store m this city.) My experience may save yoa many dollars. I would also add that in the early stage of my dis ease, I used a large amount of the preparations ad vertised as an infallible cure for Gonorrhoea, Gleet, etc., but never derived any benefit from them. - I am. Doctor, very truly yours, L . H Fan Francisco, June 16, 1864; Subscribed and sworn to before me this 21st day of Junes, 1S64. A. S. GOULD, - ft s.J notary Public, j most KcxARCaBLr ccaa or spriti.tobkbcea. A desire to benefit humanity, and a feeling of gratitude to Dr.c W. K. Doberty, alone induces ma to make this statement. For many years I haver been afflicted with that fearful disease known as 'Spermatorrhoea or Seminal ' Weaknesses, tha result of self-abuse, but till 1S55 experienced but little trouble or inconvenience. In that year, however, I had Seminal Weakness to an alarming extent, which was soon followed by the most alarming symptoms, as weakness of the back and limbs, pains in the head, dimness of vision, nerv- nn.n. anil vnrl ltiBKfv Hf v w?h3 afflicted to such an extent as to seriously impair my memory ; my idas were confused and spirits depressed. I was averse to society, had evil fore bonings and self distrust, and was entirely unfit ted for any of the duties of life. From lsia to tha summer of 1S63, 1 employed the very best medical . talent I could find, and tpent several hundred dol lars, but in no instance obtained more than tem porary relief. I had about concluded there waa no relief for me in this world, but seeing Dr. Do herty's advertisement, I thought I should call and see him, as he ehargod nothing for consultation. I had an interview with the Doctor, and Lis fee for treatment was so reasonable, I determined to try him, though I did not expect much benefit from his treatment. On the 5th of December last I placed myself under his care; in ana week I found myself very much improved, an-1 now, after five weeks treatment, 1 feel myself thoroughly cured of all my troubles and in tha enjoyment of tha bast health. Hoping that my experience may be of benefit to others similarly affikrted, I subscribe myself , JAMES JOHNSTON. Subscribed aa sworn to before me, this 15th day of January, 1864. L. s.J A. u.
