riipyrnne, not a thousand miles from
the Leader ofHcc, wLicli is almost
worth its weiglit in gold. The bricks
in its walls ate at least imiiregnated
with tlie precious metal to a valuable
extent. The discovery was mude ac
cidentally by a gentleman who lias an
otlice near by. Ife frequently noticed
truing yellow particles in the bricks,
and imagining that the colors were
;j;o!d, he took out a brick from the wall
foi the purpose of ascertaining the facts.
This-brick he first pulverized and then
''ptinred out" the colors. He could not
get rid of all the dirt, and concluded to
tend the residnm to an assaytr in Den
ver. In a few days the assay cettiti
cate ariived and showed that there n-r
