Funeral Orskqlils. Mr. S. W. Hayes,
who was killed a few dayes ago by Neil,
was buried last Friday at the cemetery,
about two miles above Ilalsey. on the
Ilarrifbnrg road. The deceased was buried
by the Patrons ot Husbandry, of which
order he was tin exemplary member. The
procession wa.s the largest ever seen in that
part of the country comprising over forty
wagons and hacks, all well tilled, besides
a great immbtT of peoplq on horseback.
Mr. Hayes was o;;e of the wealthiest and
mot. upright and honorable citizens of
Linn county.

Waitsburg, has been a resident of Oregon
since 1S51. all tlie time, we believe, a resi
dent of Linn county. Ves. is a splendid
farmer, and being industrious, long-headed
man, and having a real helpmate in a
splendid Utile wife, it's no wonder hes
well fixed financially. Ves. has gone to
