A Gay -Deceiver. A report
ii current on the streets something
like this : Not many days since, a
young man brought a young , lady
to this city, awl; left hex Bt the resi
dence of au acquaintance, while be
proceeded to the , County ;i Clerk's
office to proowiB a liceusa enabling
him to make, the aforesaid, young
lady his wife. As time passed and
the young man did not return with
the license, the young lady became
anxious, and proceeded to rruike the
necessary inquiry as to the cause of
his delay, and thjs was what she
learned : Her (supposed) "feller"
had procured a license to marry an
other girl than her, and had pro
ceeded at once to the other girl's
residence, where the ceremony was
quickly performed, and she had been
left to obtain another escort or pro
ceed to her borne unattended. There
is more of this story, but as it will
unfold itself in due time, we refrain
from making farther mention.
