I ALBANY EEGISTEH. E News. It is reported that we are to have two steam tire engines here on the Fourth. Hurrah tor the" Bullies." Look oat for them on the Fourth. It'll be a sight to see. Don't fail to be at the Opera House on Monday night it's ft big thing. Father Altiee has been unwell for some days, nothing dangerous, however. Parker & Mor- ris are pushing their fine warehouse at the mouth ot the Canal as rapidly as lumber can be procured. The second story is now well under way. The foundation for Mr. Newby's warehouse east of the depot has been laid, and work is progressing on the first story. . John Barrows, Esq., wife and daughter, started1 weriandfcr i(io t esday. Mr-. Harrows came to this city twenty-two years ago, poos. in pocket bat full ot energy and business tact, which in the course of years brought him a fair aompo tence. As an honest, straightfor ward business man Mr. Bftrrows stood high in this community, and he leaves ahost of friends here who unite in Wishing b-im the best of success in whatever he nifty under take hereafter. Hypnotism in Sciatica. A day or two since Dr. Boughton applied this new principle, hypnotism, in the treatment of a severe case ot sciatica. The patient was relieved almost immediately, and is now getting along finely. There is cer; tainly something wonderful in this principle as an agent for alleviating pain. A telegram received at Portland from our Senators and Congressman, states that there is no likelihood of reaching the bill in aid of the Port land, Dallas & Salt Lake Railroad at this sesion of Congress. Early in the beginning of next session it will be reached, and it is confi dently believed, passed. At Graf & Hollar's Can be seen some very neat furniture, in the shape of walnut bedroom sets, bureaus, table, chairs, lounges, and many other things in the furniture line that are beautiful as well as nefiil, which they are offering at bedrtick prices. Bemember that they occupy their new shop on First sfeot, nearly . opposite John Schmeer's grocery store, and call in as you pass that way. Campmerting at Brownsville. The campmeetiug, under theaus pices of the Christian Church, now in progress near Brownsville, is very largely attended, and a good deal ot interest is manifested. On last Sunday it is estimated that there were between 2,000 and 2,500 peop'e in attendance. Prof. Camp bell, of Monmouth, Elders. L. L. Rowland, Harris, and others, are conducting the exercises. The meet ing will hold until sometime during the coming week. Stili, A ii ea i). Sixty-five Singer sewing machines in a little over two months in Linn county, shows the standing of the machine, don't it? And-still there is no let up in the demand. About teii thousand dol lars has been put in circulation within the last ten days, in this and Bentqn counties, in the purchase ot sheep, said purchases to be taken east of the mountains. At the M. E. Church. Rev. Dr. E. U. Geary will occupy the pulpit in the Methodist church this otcity on next v to-morrow) Sunday evening. The public are invited to attend. Fireworks. Provisions have been made for a grand display of fireworks on the evening of the 4th. Phizgobangs, whirlegigs, Roman caudles, rockets, etc., etc., have been ordered, and when they arc fired off the spectacle will be one worth going mi'es to see. County Court.
