LOCAL MATTER. J. One more issue, and the Register will resume its old size (eight pages.) with new feature, which we- hope will meet with the fullest approval of its old friends, and adil largely to its subscription lists. In the meantime, those who are indebted to ns for snb scription, etc., are requested to pay up. As an Inducement to all who are indebted to ns on last year's subserip- i tion. we make this oiler: by baying ! us 18 we will credit yon with last 1 year's subscription and in full for the coming year. This offer to hold good for two weeks. The Last Night. The inimitable Vivian, assisted by Madame J. Reif farth. the favorite soprano, Madame A. E. Muse, the brilliant pianist, and others, give a rich and rare musi cal entertainment this evening at Pa cific Opera House t!ie very last for this season. We have yet to hear of the place where Vivian has not given the fullest satisfaction to his audiences where the entertainments given by this excellent Company were not pro nounced by all as tar superior to any thing given them before in the musical line. That a crowded house will greet him this evening we have not the least doubt, and we predict that all will be perfectly satisfied and more than re paid. Removal. At an early day, Mr. K. Banm will remove his elegant lock of goods to the fireproof brick on First street, nqw occupied by R. Cheadle. Baum has had continued luccess since bis first opening in busi ness here, on the corner of Ferry and First street, having lieen compelled to move twice previously, to larger and more spacious quarters. "The third time is the charm' and as he will have one of the largest and safest itorerooms in the city, we wish him a continuation of his former brilliant access. The heavy rains of the week have melted the snow, and Increased the volume of water in all the little creeks, loughs and swales. The roads, gen erally speaking, are impassable with anything like a load. One of the most important things for the future welfare of this city is that good roads be made-roads that will hold up heav ily loaded wagons during the rainy aeason. Loads of gravel or thousands of feet of plank will have to be used, or this citv will lose a vast amount of trade. Central Discharge Wheel. Messrs. Moore & Parker are putting tip a water wheel, called the Central Discharge Wheel, which Is pronounced the equal, if not superior, to any other water vhcel yet invented, while it is much dheaper than any other. They Intend manufacturing the wheel here, and those who wish a superior article, at a less cost t han one not so good, ahould call at their place of business and examine for themselves. Religious. Preaching at the M. K. Church next Sabbath evening February 1st. Subject The two fold nature'of man, consisting of body and soul ; the body material and mor tal, the soul spiritual and immortal, proved from reason' and revelation. All aro cordially invited to attend, although there are two classes of men who will not be much profited by bearing the sermon: First, the one who knows all alwiit this subject, and wtiuot be informed any farther; Second, tlie one who. when lie sees the truth, and Is wily convinced by it. yet prefers to hold on to error and pug AiatVory at all haarals. Isaiah Wilson. The real estate belonging to the wtai of Charles Mealey, bankrupt, old on the 27th, consisting of house nd: lot on corner of Third and Ells worth, and lot, shop,, engine, etc., on conierwf First and Broadalbin, brought $2,9ttb-$200 more than the mort gages.
