From the Shttesuuin we learn that
tlie Slate Board ot Examination was
organised in Salem last Friday. It
consist of (he Suite Board of Educa
tion, together with President B. L.
Arnold, of (.'orvalli College. President
T. M. Hatch of Willamette University,
l'rof. G. Allen Macmm, of Oregon
City Seminary, and Prof. J. W. John
son, of Portland High School. All
were present, but the last named.
The resnlts ot Friday's session will
shortly be made known.
Another street railroad, one and a
half miles in length, will soon be built
in Portland.
The Bulletin says. "Ex-Governor
Daniels, of this city, yesterday, (Tues
day ) 'met with an accident dislocating
his left shoulder. The same shoulder
was dislocated about 25 years ago."
Three persons were required to assist
the physician in reducing the dislocation.
Tle Statesman says Ben Holladay
paid his taxes for that county last
Monday, amounting to $4,500.
