The Mormons have ward schools In Salt Lake City, but they are of a poor class, and tlie Territory is without any system of public Instruction. Colorado, there is a moun tain of iron ore larger than ' the iron mountain of Missouri. It so nearly resembles that of the great Missouri mass that one can liardly lie disting uished from the other. It is better tliau that ot Lake Sti)erior. and would work more easily . It is what is known as magnetic ore. one of the best varie ties, although hematite also abounds all along the mountain base. It is coarsely granular, and in its fracture resembles cast iron. Four mountain peaks in Arizona are each 10.000 feet above the sen level. It has been demonstrated that most ot the agricultural land of Arizona is capableoi producing two crops a year, ot every kind of crop.
