SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 18G9. V. 8. Official Paper for Oreg'on. , VARIOUS ITEMS. A successful business man of New Albany, Indiana, was reccntlj urged to take charge of a class in a Sunday school. He said, " No, indeed, sir; I will not teach a class' "Why not," asked the superintend. "For an ex cellent reason," he answered. " I once had a class ef three boys in a Sunday , school. After teach rag them awhile one f them was sent to jail, and another arraigned for a crime in the l'olice court. To save the other from a similar fate I gave up the class, aad I will never teach another, for Sunday school is evidently not my forte." We like the plow for its draught, because the s line is brought to bear directly upon the plow-beam in stead of the carriage : also, i.ecause it is strong and durable, all except the wood-work being con structedof wrought iron no en-tings are used. The wheels running upon the solid land is an ad vantage over other gang-plows, in striking off land and in plowifrg. not having to make the nec essary changes in the machinery, and the sent is always level, not tlir wing ihe driver forward or sideways as in other plows.
