that I could have a modern gas range and autom atic
hot w ater wav out in the county off the city gas
mains. But now we have a Propane (las storage tank
right in our own yard and enjoy all the convenience
of city gas service. Take my advice and investigate!”

employes, and those among the highest paid,
can successfully maintain the threat of a par
alyzing strike against the interest of the en
tire country— and against 90 per cent of (heir
fellow employes.
The threat of a strike cannot justify grant
ing more favorable conditions to 125,000 em
ployes than have already been put in effect
for I.175.OOO. nor will it alter the opposition
of the railroads to unwarranted wage in
creases or to changes in working rules which
are not justified.
A glance at the but shows what employes
represented by the Engineers and Firemen
make. They are among the highest paid in
the ranks of labor in the United Stales, if not
the highest.
Compare these wages with what you make!
