I on often tee hate met a perxon who
was content to wear defeat like n mill
stone round his neck. How refreshing it
was to see him resolve to use his neck to
hold up his chin! Then he saw a failure
for what it should be — not a millstone
but n milestone on the road to long-
range achievement. It’s how well he
carried on that was all important. He
had looked defeat in the face and no
longer feared it. Nor would he let mild
success lull him into lazy contentment.
He was ready for his full share of the
glorious opportunities that America
alone can offer him. He went swinging
down the highway with the courage
of youth —the spirit of America.
