To the attention of Senator W
G H are and C ham ber of ( o r a -
m erer President Paul Patterson:
Some tim e ago there appeared in
the Argus a challenge from the
i h jm lir r cf eom m erre, represented
by Paul Patterson, president, to
the R o ta ry elub for a cham pion
ship soft ball game Senator W. G.
Ila re , representing the Rotary
club, accepted this challenge in a
very firm and decisive mailer. The
general public is wondering if the
members of these splendid organ
izations have w eak e n e d. R u t
w hether they have or not friends
of both organizations demand that
these games be played.
The W ashington (o u n ty F air, to
assist in determ inin g the skill of
the several hall players of these
tw o organizations, extends an in
vitation to play a championship
game F rid a y afternoon. September
3. at the W ashington count)* fa ir
grounds under certain rules znd
conditions established by the fair.
The tw o organizations can be as
sured that the best um pire w ill be
provided and sufficient police pro
tection secured, and the players
w ill be shown every courtesy pos
sible.— Ed L. M oore manager.
