At the business m eeting of the
Double-Trees, preceding th e C h rist­
mas party Friday evening, it was
decided to retain the present nam e
"D ouble-Trees" after several other
nam es w ere discussed. The local
class entertained the Friendly C or­
n er class from the Laurel E v an ­
gelical Sunday school in th e M oun­
tain Home church parlors. The
Laurel class held th eir business
m eeting in one room, w hile the
local class held th eir s in another

land. Lance was C ount G regory
Lantzussy of th e Russian nobility,
before the Russian revolution, but
had his nam e changed to Lance
when he came to th e L’nited States
His father was an attach e to the
Russian embassy in Spain in th e
days of Mr. Lance's youth At the
death of his father and elder b ro th ­
er. he received the title of Count
He served in the A m erican arm y
during th World war. and since has
been foreign represen tativ e of n a ­
tionally known firm s to South
A m erica and to Spain. Mr. Lance
is an accomplished linguist, sp eak ­
ing fluently in six languages D u r­
ing the recent police convention
in P ortland when th e M exican
police visited th e "C ity of Roses
he acted as official in terp re ter Mrs.
Lance was for nearly tw o y ears a
resident of Mountain Home, w here
she lived on the H arry S aunders
place. She spent h er tim e w hile
living here, studying and w riting.
She has had several stories p u b ­
lished in magazines of national
circulation, and is m aking a nam e
for herself in poetry circles. She
has had poems in th e New York
Sun. the Kansas City Star, and
other prom inent papers, as well as
in general magazines and th e poe­
try journals of th e nation Her
poems have also been quoted on
th e poetry page of th e L iterary
Digest. At the quiet w edding cere­
mony, Miss Jean M cIntosh w a s
maid of honor, and Bob Steiw er.

M rs Lance are at home to th eir
friends in Portland, w here they
reside, b u t it is th eir intention to
travel. Misses Ju n e and M arjorie
