ing th e fire h a z u rd season to p ro tect our
forests an d G overnor M artin has tak e n
p ro p e r steps by placin g p ractically all of
th e tim b ered a re a s of the sta te u n d er
“ re g u la te d use." M alicious incendiarists
anil th e careless c a m p e r and sm oker is
not w anted in our forests at such d a n g e r­
ous periods. These a re a s are too im portant
to th e w e lfa re of the state to ta k e any
chance.
U n d er “ re g u la te d use" cam p ers, who
go into th e woods, must obtain perm its if
th ey expect to build fires in any place
o th e r th a n d esig n ated vam ping spots and
m ust also c a rry reg u latio n fire fig h tin g
equ ip m en t including a shovel, axe and
w a te r bucket. Sm oking is also prohibited.
If necessary the forests should be closed
