Zoning, a Good Step
ARG ÜS, R I L L S R O R O , OREGON
CHU RCHES
A zoning system fo r H illsboro has fi
nally been a d o p te d by the council a fte r
co n sid erab le stu d y on the p art of th e
p lan n in g com m ission and city officials. It
is a ste p in th e rig h t direction for th e fu
tu re d evelopm ent of th e city, because now
people can build hom es in c ertain sections
of H illsboro w ith assu ran ce th a t some old
shed or so m eth in g of a sim ilar n a tu re will
not he built rig h t along side of a fine
hom e.
It is a pity th a t zoning cannot he con
sid ered e a rlie r in th e life of a city, as the
need here has been a p p a re n t fo r several
years. T h ere m ay be some fau lts w ith the
p resent outline of districts, hut th e re have
been w ays p rovided to m ake ch an g es if
necessary.
