Fourth. H elvetia got th ree of the
prizes offered there, one for the
p rettiest baby, the heaviest woman
and th e hom eliest man. Several
fam ilies w ent to Balm G rove and
several to H illsboro w hile others
had fam ily gatherings at home.

the great im provem ent in S hute
park. It m akes an ideal place now
for picnics.
Jo h n Y urkovich had a m idnight
visitor in his chicken pen T h u rs­
day and Friday night th a t killed
20 half grow n chickens. On S a tu r­
day they moved the chickens to
another pen and Mr. Y urkovich
w aited for th e coons w ith a sh o t­
gun. but nothing show ed up. Mr.
Y urkovich thinks it w as a coon
because the m ark of claw s was to
be seen on a post w here it had
clim bed into the six-foot pen.
