The per cent of attendance in the South grade school for the past month was 97.8. For the two pre vious months it was 98.2 and 97.8. Most poultry feeds composed of grain or grain by products lack the necessary minerals, such as calcium carbonate, phosphorus and chlorine. Poultry fed such a deficient ration will not produce the maximum num ber of eggs; they are handicapped in their growth; and are likely to have defective bones. Animal feeds, such as skim milk, beef and fish scraps contain most of ths- minerals needed and are also valuable prb- tein foods. The cause is vari ously stated as a stroke, apoplexy, cerebral hemorrhage or some other term, but all indicating that an ar tery gave way. that a blood clot formed and that paralysis or death resulted. Generally the newspaper item re cords the fact that the man so stricken was of middle age, promi nent and frequently at or near the height of his career. Two instances of this kind have occurred recently.
