her’s uncle, Robert Bagby, who died

Bagby was an old pioneer, having
come to this country by wagon train
when two years of age. He was 77
years old at the time of his death,
and had resided in Clackamas coun­
ty since coming to Oregon,

Mrs. Amy Altman returned last

at Seattle with her niece, Mrs. Bes-
sie Nelson, and her son, Fred Alt-
man, whose ship, the Lurline, was
in Seattle at the time. While on
her trip Mrs. Altman went as far as
the Canadian border, going over the
famous Chuckanut drive. Another
interesting place visited was the
government locks, the second largest
in the world, where she saw boats
and also a large boom of logs taken
through. The locks are surrounded
by beautiful grounds, kept up by
the government She especially ad­
mired the fine theater buildings in
Seattle, such as the new Orpheum,
the Fifth Avenue, and United Ar­
tists.
