A. U Oswald's Seven Serenaders, the famous orchestra, at the Oregon Agricultural College, will furnish the music at the last regular dance of the season Saturday evening, December 80 at Shute Park auditorium. Oswald's Seven Serenaders were so called because of the fact that when the best musicians of the college were assembled by Mr. Glen Oswald to furnish the music for his dances, which have become essential to an enjoyable four years at college in the opin ions of the students, the perform ers numbered seven. Mr. Oswald has been a dancing instructor for many years and thru his able management has produced an or chestra which is the pride of Cor vallis and every student at the college. This orchestra plays for all of the large O. A. C. dances in and out of Portland during vacations, and for the big social events dur ing the college year. They play ed at the Multnomah hotel, in Portland, last night, at which the students entertained prospective students and "old pals." "If the Serenaders arc going to be at Ilillsboro, I will be at the dance," is the remark of all who have heard them. Even students from the University of Oregon compliment O. A. C. on her dance orchestra, if on nothing else. Every member of the orchestra is a student at the college and is working his way thru to a higher education, like hundreds of oth ers at O. A. C. Nine pieces are in the orches tra, which is composed of piano, drums, bass, trombone, saxo phones and banjoes. The dance melody produced is said to be so good that no one can resist the temptation to dance, and when they play the "Railroad Blues all from six to ninety years will be on their feet, it is claimed. "Dick" Lyons, on the piano Dwight Johnson, on the drums, and "Joe" Pardee, on the saxo phone, three of the original mem bers of the orchestra, can, it is claimed, make their instruments fairly talk.
