DIFFERENT DIVORCE CASE
This is-a different divorce case
different than the usual run. be
cause the ma jority of them afford
no contest. In this case, wherein
I.ydia Lahtinen sues Chas. for
divorce, Chas. wines right back
with an answer. I.ydia sets up
that they were married at Han
cock, Mich., in 1!02, aud that
they have one child, a daughter,
aged 12 years. She swears in
her complaint that they own 2
acres in Beavcrton-Recdville. and
that the husband has cursed her
repeatedly, and that in May he
knocked her down and dragged
her around the road. She asks
the court to give her her third in
the acreage; $1250 equity in Un
common property; 200 suit
money and $100 to support her
self and chili! during pendency of
the ease and then $25 ner month
alimony. After that Chas. comes
back with an answer, refusing to
take the count of ten. He savs
that his better half has an ungov
ernable temper and that she
roundly berates him. and lhat the
incident of assault as she relates
it, is given entirely wrong, as she
was the one who made the phys
ical attack. He states that she
about tore bis shirt off his back
and that she had no force from
him except that be exerted him
self to get away from her
"clutches." He says she has
manv times hurled dishes at his
head regardless, and he asks for
a decree and the custody of the
child.
