ing the Rebekah, Pvthian Sister
and Eastern Star lodges were
given a treat in Portland, yester
day, under the guidance of Mrs.
Humphreys, who has been dem
onstrating war foods in the coun
ty for several weeks. The party
party was made up from here anil
Forest Grove. They were met at
the L'nion depot, and taken by
autos to the Pacific Coast Biscuit
Co's plant, taken all through this
plant, and thence to the Union
Meat Co., where they were in
ducted through the mysteries of
that place, being shown where
they made the celebrated Gold
Crest butter. They then went to
the Crown Mills, where a vessel
400 feet long was being laden
