Floyd Ramp, a protruded So

from overseas would surely come
to him only for the fact that the
sea is not open.

of dying.
He has only one chance in 600
of losing a limb.
He will live five years longer
because of physical training.
He is more free of disease in
the army than 'in civil life.
He has better medical .care nt
the front than at home.
In other wars from 10 to 15
men died from disease to every
10 from bullets. This war is less
wasteful of life than any other in
his tor-.
Only 10 per vent of all Cana
dians disabled for further service
have been physically unable to
engage in their former occupa
tions. If your boy is one of the 10
per cent the government will re
educate him in another vocation
at which he can earn a living.
The call to the Oregon govern
orship appears to be strong these
days, and the primaries will
swarm with candidates on the
republican ticket. A nomination
is almost equivalent to an elec
tion, and it isn't much wonde
that there is a multiplicity of as
pirunts.
The fact that Russia has made
separate peace with Germany
was to have been expected. Le-
nine and Trotsky wereboth Pro
uerman, and went from here to
Russia with the view of serving
Germany's interests. When they
gave up Riga and other Russian
territory they did only what was
logical and what students of his
tory have anticipated. Their re
cent bluff was nothing but cam
ouflage, pure and simple.
