If the route goes by Oreneo and Walker's then the entrance to Portland will go in via the Canyon road, which is hard surface from the top of the hill into town. If it shall go via Heaverton -Keedville it will mean the Sluvin road route below Bertha. The government has Bet the price of Northwest wheat ft Portland at $'205 per bushel. This makes it equal with the Chi cago marKet, and Himply means that there will all kinds of mill ing here for the season. It is quite likely that this also means a cheaper price for bran and snoris. SCHOLLS fl DAI FOR 0OIH 8 20TH Orange Airaln to Demons! rate What That Section Can do OUTLINE OF WHAT IS WANTLD BchI Pair Point In Counly Gelling Ready lu Show Their Producl The following letter from the Scholia Fair management ex plains itself and it is not neces sary to say that Scholls always makes good with its Grange fairf "Not in spite of, but because of, these strenuous war times, Scholls Grange has decided to put on her usual community fair Oct. 19 and 20 to prove to the reBt of the county that this little corner has been doing its bit. Most of the crops have not been up to standard this season, but there is enough to make a good showing, and the Grange hopes that every farmer in the com munity will take it upon himself to boost lor his home section by bringing in an exhibit of some kind. Grains in half sack lots. grasses, vegetables, canned prod ucts, fruits, needlewor. livestock and poultry will all find a wel come in our exhibit buildings, on the same site where the fair was held last year. The wonderful growth of our fairs in the past has definitely determined that the crowd of visitors has reached such propor tions that it is absolutely impos sible for the ladies-of the Grange to serve the big dinners which they have always done. We realize this will be a disappoint ment to many, as Scholls is far famed for her sumptuous fare, t here will be a lunch counter on the grounds, where sandwiches and coffee will be served.
