EXAMINERS BUSY TODAY The War Board examined 17 for the war draft this morning, and 15 were physically fit. The first 38 will be completed by nightfall by Dr. Wood and assistant, Dr. F. A. Bailey. No selection will be made until Jate today, if then. But one so far has furnished affiidavits with exemption claim. Two ask relief on religions views. Twenty two claim exemption on dependent wife or family or par ents. .Tomorrow and Saturday will fiinish exams, and by the first of the week results will be known. Wm. Nel son, who is one of the best au thorities on deer, states that they are more plentiful in this year of our Lord 1917 than for many seasons. The law now holds a hunter down to two bucks for the open season, it formerly being three. In speaking of the increase in deer, Mr. Nelson says: "The enforcement of the law against running deer with dog3 the past five 'years has been great factor. Again, the bounty on cougars and panthers and other wild animals that slay fawns has increased their kill and this had meant more safety for deer. Another condition has lent to the increase last year the wet July caused ferns and vegetation to grow very high, ar.d it made a hne shelter tor venison which were sought by hunters.
