were msrried in New York in
1S92, and after twenty year of
wedded lite the wife, according
to the complaint, left the hus
band. Marion lilakeslee and Vera R
lilakeslee, of Oregon City, were

ClLOkHJE MEACHAM JR.
George Meacham Jr., son of
Thos. G. Meacham, of Moun
taindale, was drowned in the
South Fork of the Nehalem, last
Thursday, Dec. 14. The young
man was aged 19. He and his
brother, Frank, and Edw. John
son left here a few weeks ago to
trap and fish on the Nehalem.
On Thursday the young man and
Johnson started out to look at
their traps Meacham going one
side of the river and Johnson
the other. The latter was to
make Wheeler on his rounds.
They were to have met later at
a point where their boat lay,
and when Johnson arrived heJ
found the boat missing. The
boat was found later, and
Meacham's body was not re
covered.
