The life of Miss Mary Urowr,
who died above Banks, Monday,
was an exeniplificati n of one of
the grandest of sacrifieis. llr
self and her hopes of youth vvere.
submerRcd al a time when life
meant everything to her. Her
self-sacrifice was as much of a
pleasure to her as it was a dut.
Such nobility of character and
moral strength is so surely a
rarity that it become a monu
ment to a person enshrined in
the hearts of all who have seen
and wondered. It U such a life
as this that causes a thoughtful
person to ponder, and to real.z?
that in the fitness of things there
should be an eUrnnl habitat.
UNION STOCK YAk'DS
The market opened Monday with
a lightotferingof about 800 head
The demand was very limited.
The prices on prime steers were
a vuarter lower. Tops sold at
J&UU for one load and otners at ;
$7.90 which would have realized
25c more last week. There were
but a few loads of cows here but
they found very slow outlet at
about the same loss as did stt-ers
Very good cows sold at $5.50 with
with the bulk selling $5 to $5 25
Bulls sold at $4.25 lor the best,
calves were unchanged at a $7.50
top. .
Hogs Hog prices were ad
vanced another lOe over last
week with quite a liberal otfer
inr. Tops sold at $9.10 which
wta also the bulk price. Quality
waa very good. Pigs were very
scarce with a $7.50 top.
Sheep Sheep prices still re
main unchanged. T.hs receipts
have been only moderate but
enough to supply the demand.

$8 25 with culls bringing $5 50

$6 00 with ewes at 5c. .
