town. Dr. Erwin attended the

Mr. and Mrs. H.T. Blair, of
Ryan Place, passed through town
Monday, enroute to Barview. for
a two weeks vacation. They
were joined at Hillsboro by Mrs.
Ruth Blair, and Mrs. Applegate
Sr.. the latter of whom returned
in a day or so.

us, has opened a machine shop
and auto garage at that point

John D. Koch, of above Bloom
ing, was in town Saturday. John
raised Sprng-sown oats, on the
hills, this year, that went 86
bushels to the acre, while Tom
Sinay, his neighbor, produced
several acre that went 95
bushels per. This is some yield
for Spring oats, raised on the
hills, at a goodly elevation.

returned Friday evening from a

les and San Diego, and reports a

fairs, including one at TiaJuan
na. in old Mexico, where he daw
a bull fight: tourist travel to

are thronged with visitors. The

Friday afternoon, about four
o'clock, destroyed nearly all the
stacked grain belonging to Jacob
Jacky. of neftr North Plains
The threshing ere had just
started work, and but a load or
so of grain had been put in the
sacks. Aside from this nothing
of the setting was saved except
one load ol bundles, which were
carted away before the flames
caught them. The threshing
machine, belonging to Albert
Bonney, was a total loss. Neith
er Mr. Jacky nor Mr. Bonney
naa any insurance.

He has a new boiler, and will re
build at once, as he considers
the future for the business mnre
than bright. Mr. Wen
takes his loss rihilnsnnh
and says it i3 up to him to
buckle on his armor and go at it
with renewed effort.
