Hop picking will begin in full
blast next week, some yards
starting harvest Monday and the
great majority opening Tuesday
morning. The crop at large in
the county, as well as in the
state, will not be up to last
year's production. The liee have
been worse this season than for
years, and the stand of vine is
not as good as average.
There are a few yards, how
ever, that will bear a good crop,
especially where care was taken
in unravinc ror thn vermin. The
if nest of her grand- 3Uppy 0f pickers for many coun

it hard to get a sufficient local
supply.
There does not appear to be
much of a movement in hops,
although several valley growers
have contracted at 12i cents
within the past few weeks.
