traveler asks Fair visitors their
opinion as the best state showing

biir structure, built out of logs,
in the architecture of the Par
thenon, stands out by itself. All
other buildings have similarity
of design and color, while the
Oregon structure la natural.
"Where is the Oregon building?"
This is the query echoed from
the gate to the coast line. All
viaitors are more than Impressed
with it, and with the represent-,
alive esjiibit from Held and
stream, the school eihibit, and
the horticulture displays.
Oregon and Canada appear to
be the farorites with Fair visit
ors, and Easterners who want to
locate in the West spend hours
with the exhibit John Dennis,
of Hillaboro, is all attention, and
Oregon people are shown every
possible courtesV. Hiilsboro's
school exhibit compares favora
bly with those from other sec
tions of the state. Neat week
the Argua will give a review of
the Oregon showing and of Hiils
boro's part in putting Oregon on
the map.

A very sad affair was the death
of Forrest Lester Clark, son of

Cemetery.

Hare and McAlear will take care
of the K. of P and Mrs. Hare
and Mrs. McAlear will see that
the Pythian Sisters are shown
the beauties of North Washing-
ton County. Many will motor up
to that delightful mountain dis
trict while others will go by
equine conveyance.
Last year the lodges held their
annual event up on Gales Creek,
and each year they propose a
change of location.
All will take luncheon alone.

A quiet but pretty wedding was
celebrated ty Rev. E. A. Harris,
st the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.
E. Harbison. Thursday. July 29,
1915. at nine o'clock, when their
daughter Hester was united in
marriage to Glenn V. Payne.
The ceremony was performed in
the presence of the immediate
relatives of the bride and
groom and a few invited friends.
The bride was gowned in white
silk, and was given away by her
father. The house was beautifully
decorated in a color scheme of
white and green.
Immediately after congratu
lations Mr. and Mrs. Payne were
the recipients of many beautiful
presents, in token of the high
esteem in which they are held.
After a short wedding trip they
will take up their residence at
Seventh and Baseline.
The bride is well known here
and at Hood River, and has a
host of friends. She is a erad
iate of the 1'acinc University.
