Tax collection will open tomorrow
morning in County Treasurer K.
B. Sappington'a olftcb with the
largest roll in point of numerciai
strength the county has ever had
in its history.
The rolls were turned into the
county clerk this morning, and
Clerk Luce this afternoon at
tached the warrant of the coun
ty court authorizing the treasnrer
to proceed with the collection of
the tax.
Treasurer E. B. Sapping ton al
ready has over 300 inquiries from
outside parties, wanting to know
the amount of their taxes.
He will keep one man busy all
the time, answering correspond
ence, and even at that more help
will be needed to keep this lea
ture of collection out of the way.
The legislature as yet has done
nothing to change the collection
laws, and the probability is that
collection in the future will not
revert oack to the shentr as
thought at the first of the session.
