Xh committee on prohibition:
laws will toon report a majority:
bill to allow a resident of Omron j
to have two quarts of whiskey '
and 15 quarts of beer shipped to
his address every 30 days, and it
looks as though that measure
may pass the legislature.
A minority report will also be
reported asking that tht lid be
screwed down so that accua pur
j will be the beverage for the Ore-
gjnian.
Advertisements will not be al
lowed to run in newspapers, and
booce announcements will not be
allowed to disturb the ootics of
those wl o have s liking for Ore
gon scenery.
Tht measure allowing the 15
quarts of irrigation is not so
drastic, after all. and the family
can have a laonppe preventa
tive in tht refrigerator, and a
microbe killer in tne family meu
icine chest, if the solons con
dude that tht bill is a good
thing. No habitual drunkard
will be allowed to nave aay ship
ments sen. him after he shall de
clared to be Bach by a court of
justice one pretty good thing
about tht brU. and oot that will
withstand attack in the courts.
Tht law will bt taken up next
week, and mav ?et to fit,)
passage within ten days.
