Sim Barrett, an inmate of the
poor farm, aged about HO years,
was badly burned Saturday morn
ing by a lighted candle, while in
hia room, just before the break
fast hour. The old man was late
getting down to breakfast, and
Superintendent Clarence Young
went to his room to have him re
port at the table. Opening the
door he found the inmate just
extinguishing the fire. His
clothing was badly scorched and
hia arms and chest were serious
ly burned. The old man had
succeeded in getting the fire out.
