To the Editor: Incidental knowledge of the worth and professional character of the late Dr. Linkla- ter. came last week while visit ing a home o miles southwest of Hillsboro, where a young father and mother related to me how that faithful physician at the birth of a husky, flaxen haired girl in their home, now 3 years old, saved the life of both moth er and child by arriving at their onely cabin, on the mountain, where he remained from six in the evening till noon next day, without sleep and little food, or till the crisis was passed, and the household made happy, be cause of the surgeon's devotion and skill. As the mother, with tears in .it tier eyes, related now ror is long hours she lingered in the shadow of death, the good doc tor remaining patiently at her bedside, because of his sym pathetic nature, sharing in the ordeal till light and joy came, I felt glad that I had known such a man as Dr. Linklater and shared his friendship.
