Attention Farmers!
In order to raise money to meet our pressing obligations
the Board of Directors have gone through tne official price list
of the Garden Tract Addition to Hillsboro, and reduced the Lots
from Ten to Fifty dollars per Lot according to location, and will
sell the Lots at the revised official price list, that will be placed
in a conspicuous place where all can see. There is placed on
the official list the Lots sold and the name of the purchaser, and
the price paid for said lots, to show you that we have kept faith
with you in this sale, also to aid the auctioneers in selling, and
the purchaser in buying, and save time as we wish to dispose of
300 Lots at this sale. We need the money or its equivalent.
Terms cash, or 14 cash, balance in monthly, quarterly or semi
annual payments, with interest at 6 per cent. On defferred pay
ments interest payable with principle payment.
Sale will take place in Hillsboro National Bank Building, on
Second Street, at 1 P. M. on

Members of the Pythian Sister
order tendered Hon. W. N. Bar
rett a surprise Tuesday evening,
the occasion being his birthday
anniversary. Mr. Barrett is a
charter member of the order, is
a native son. has spent all his
ire here, and for many years hrs
practiced law. In appreciation
of the guest of honor he was
presented with a Pythian lapel
button, and responded with a
short talk. Music and a guess
ing contest were enjoyed by
the guests. Refreshments were
served at a late hour, and the
event was long to be remember
d bv the participants.
Christmas is to be celebrated
in the good old fashioned way at
Scholia this year. The Scholia
Union Sunday School are plan
ning on a big Christmas tree for
the children and a short piO-rram
on Christmas Eve. at the Artisan
Hail. Expenses for the tree and
treats for the children will be
covered by popular subscription
and the committee hopes all will
respond with a good will in help
ing them dispense Christmas
cheer to all. The committee in
charge of arrangements is Mrs.
FerdGroner, Mrs. Lester Camp
bell and Mr. Avev. A hearty
welcome is extended to alL
The Commercial Club meets
very Tuesday night, and all
members are rq"ested to at

them. The Club has appointed
a committee to look into the mat
ter of duster lights and cost to
maintain, and a report will be
