Registration closed Sept. 9!
and will reopen again Sept 24.
This is because of a non-repeal of
an old section of the statute
when the new law was passed.
The break makes it a hardship
on the clerk's office, for it stops
registration just when it could
best be handled.
P. C. Browne, who married in
January, 1903, has sued Ida J.
Browne for divorce. The couple
were married in Portland. The
plaintiff makes the simple charge
of desertion and sets the time of
leaving at Feb. 2, 1913. The
case is filed in the local circuit
court.
Supervisor John Wismer, of
Cedar Mill, was in town Friday.
He is trying to get enough vol
unteer hauling and help to put
rock on about 1400 feet of road
by the old Bronson place. This
will be a great benefit, especially
through the Winter months, as
this is always a bad stretch of
road in the wet season.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Collier, of
Scholls, returned from their New
port trip Thursday. Mr. Collier
has nine acres of onions this
year, and reports a good crop.
He expects a good price this
year, and says that while they
may not command the figure of
last season he has every reason
to believe they will give 1913
prices a hard run.
The W. T. Batchelder Farm,
near North Plains, has beaten j
the twin record so far as the
bovine family are concerned. -
Thos. Kerr and Ben Sahnow
were tied in honors, each having
a cow that gave birth to twins.
The Batchelder place has a cow
that brought triplets into the
world, a few days ago. One of
them died within a short time,
but the other two are dairying
right along.
