Wooly. of Portland, survive.
The funeral took placa) Tues
day, and interment was in the
Masonic Cemetery. Tha pall

Mr. Gibson was a resident of
Hiltuboro for years after he mar
ried, and since going to Portland
he has been a trusted employee

Dr. F. A. Bailey reports that
Fall and Winter sown grain never
looked better than it now does at
the corresponding period of the
year. If the lack of frosts this
Winter has not encouraged insect
life there should be a bumper
crop. Quite a number of farmers
on the uplands started seeding
Monday and that, rewinds one
that the turds are beginning to
nest, not even waiting tor the
leaves to shoot
Sunday was an ideal day and
the automobiles were out in num
bere to take advantage of the
balmy weather. The run be
tween Hillsboro and Forest Grove
was utilized, as this la about the
only good highway, with the ex
ception ot the spurs of macadam
reaching out ot the two places.
Mrs. Harry Palmer, of Spo
kane, Wash., is the guest of her
mother. Mrs. A. E. Gibson, pio
neer of 1844. at Oreneo. The
visitor came to celebrate the
mother s seventieth birthday,
which took place Tuesday. Mrs.
Gibson was born near Salem, and
is one of the oldest in the state
in pioneerage.
A private letter from Creswell
states that Mrs. Geo. Schulmer-
ich, who injured her arm last
week, is getting along nicely,
Miss Ella Wilkes, of this city, is
now at Creswell, visiting with
the Schulmerichs.
