lived out near Trumps.
Alex Gordon, of North Plains,
was in town Friday. He has
been suffering from rheumatism
for some weeks, but is now on
the mend.

lin Everett, of Hillsboro. Feb. 16
1914, a daughter. Franklin says
that the new arrival will have a
vote, in due time, if it isn t a boy.
S. A. 1). Meek, of be von d
North Plains, was down to the
cirv Saturday. Mr. Meek is lm
proving in strength, and is about
recovering from his accident ot
several weeks ago.
Joseph Williams, of Forest
Grove, one of the original pioneer
hopmen of the Pike country,
above Gaston, was in town Mon
day, accompanied by his son.
Chas.
J. H. Bailey, of Buxton, was
in town the last of the week.
He says Buxton has had a mild
Winter, with but little snow.
Fruit trees promise a heavy
bloom provided frosts do not in
terfere.
The weather was a little chill,
although bright, last week, and
Oregonians were hoping for
rain. In contrast the Mississippi
Valley states were enjoying (?)
two feet of snow and a howling
blizzard. Who wouldn't live in
Oregon.
Hillsboro is getting some ad
vertisement. anyway, as a result
of the Portland, Eugene & East
ern running through town. Many
on the train are heard by Hills
boro passengers to remark that
Hillsboro is Borne town, anyway
and quire pretty from a car
window,"
