are heaps of clean comedy in it,
but it is not altogether freo from
tragvdy, and when the two are
blended happily, tho prvvluct is
bttnd to te a success,
That i why "The Misstmri

over the United States for sev
eral years.
There is just sufficient of seri
ous nutter in it to afford a
pleastng contrast to the farcial
side.
Kealty funny incidents are
numerous and perhaps it is as
well that the audience is afford
ed a breathing spell at times for
the crisis and counter-sentiment
of the play.
To the pi ay's success the great
characters of .eke and Pal

edy. They carry most of the
production, but while these two
are outstanding, other characters
of the play are equally excellent
and on the whole, the cast is
w ell Ivtlanced and sustained.
The Company will present this
play heie next Monday. Feb, 5JH.

Formal announcement was
made Sunday of the acceptance
by Rev. Edward A. Harris, of
Hood River, of the call extended
to him sometime ago, by the
Hillsboro Congregational church.
Negotiations have been going on
since last May, and he has final
ly promised to come and begin
work, Sunday, March 1. Mr.
Harris has had a very successful
pastorate of three and a half
years at Hood Hiver, during
which time a fine $22,000 church
building has been erected. He
is in the prime of life and will
bring to the local work the best
of his ability. The members of
the church are rejoicing over
their success in persuading Mr.
Harris to accept the pastorate.
P. J. Krieger, of Verboort,
was in town the first ot the week.
