quired property, on the center of
Third and Oak. Ha haa an

ting the new home into shape,
setting the house back from the
street front, and but rfmir an ad

Richard E. Wiley, of the Uni

his college team beat the Uni
versity of Oregon, at Portland,
score 10 to 7. He spent Sunday
in Hillsboro, with his father, W.
V. Wiley, and returned to Seat
tle Sunday afternoon.
Receipts for the week have bee
I cattle. 33$: cal vet. 1; hog.
2727; sheep. 2429.
Cattle liquidation has been
somewhat less this week than it
vu a week agui but the arrival
i did not furnish a very large num
ber of prime head. Killers are II
inot very aen iot me naii-iai
trade, and prices are generally
lower on this class; 7.25 to 7.50
was bid for the few choice car
: of steers offering the early part
of the week with the bulk top at
7. 40. Sixteen head of steers told
Friday morning for 7.60L the ex
treme top for the week. Much
of the stuff arriving shows
shrinkage in transit from being
fed short grass.
Butcher stock was in fair de
mand during the entire session.
Cow stuff was the only kind to
suffer price declines, and this oc
curred only when quality aver
aced poor; 6.50 was bid freely
for smooth fat she stuff, but
there was a short supply.
Swine values lowered 20 cents
from the old price Monday. The
first half of the week furnished
big receipts. Monday having one
of the largest totals on record.
Quality of stock has been gener
ally good and pork is being fin
ished more carefully; $8 as a
light hog quotation has stood the
test right through the week.
Good demand prevailed at the
lowered prices, market closing
steady to firm.
A plentiful supply of choice
lam 09 and mutton was offered
the buyers, who have been short
handed for some time. They ad
vanced prices Monday, but later
receded, and the close was about
where it was seven days ago,
but is steady. Prices on best
grades are as follows: Yearlings.
4.75 to 4.90; old sheep, 4.25 to
4.50; ewes, 190 to 4; lambs, 5.50
to 5.75.
