Mrs. Chas. Bernard, formerly
of Cedar Mill, now of Portland,
hurriedly left her summer home
at Seaview, Wash., last week, to
attend the bedside of her son Dr.
Joseph Bernard, of San Francis
co, who has been dangerously ill
with typhoid. Dr. Bernard will
be remembered as a young man
by many of the residents of near
Cedar Mill.
George Fmrnott, of California,
who is visiting with his brothers,
Homer and Lou, says that Cali
fornia has the best auto roads of
any slate in the union. There
are hundreds of miles of good
macadam, and all along the roads
are signs warning motorists not
to exceed 20 miles per hour, and
through many of the little towns
