He was born in Harrison County,

lost all the fingers of his left
hand while working in a logging
camp for the Portland Lumber
Company, a few days ago. The
young man was stout and active,
and is about 21 years of age.
The loss of the hand will be a
serious handicap to him. He
was reeling cable when his hand
was caught in the pulley,
"The Man From Outeide," a
3-reel drama, of great interest
twin brothers taking tfie leading
roles will be shown at the Peo
ple s Theatre, next Monday and
luesday nights.
W. C. Kahle, a Forest Grove
pool hall proprietor, was assessed
525 by Judge W. I). Smith, yes
terday, the charge being that he
allowed minors in his place of
business. There were three
charges against him, but upon
paying the quarter century fund
for two, he was allowed to depart
without prosecution on the
third.
In all likelihood the city coun
cil will before long order a catch
basin on the Linklater corner,
Second and Lincoln. When the
rains get in their deadly work
there is generally a pool of wa
ter on that corner, and about the
only relief appears to be an out
let
